About

Deaf History Australia is being maintained by Darlene Thornton at this stage. However, there is a view that a group will be formed to run this blog and the organisation itself too over the year. Please do volunteer if you can assist in any way.

It is hoped that informative articles, videos (from YouTube) and photos will be included in this blog to educate people about the history of deaf people, organisations and events of Australia from 1788 to 1950.

Please do give suggestions, recommendations and constructive criticism at any time.

Thank you.

  1. Hi Darlene, have you examined this database (you probably have):

    http://www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy1/genealogy-records/ireland-australia-transportation-records-1791-1853/

Indicates that Anne Donnelly may well have had a deaf husband?

    Hello

Are you still updating https://deafhistoryaustralia.com/resources/? I’m trying to get in contact with the person in charge of deafhistoryaustralia.com. If you could point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Best regards,
